Hi, my name is Indranil. Feel free to call me Indy.

NYC-based finance leader by day, (slow) marathoner and (semi)-competitive tennis player by early morning. My time - and wallet - are currently in a three-way battle between the city’s food scene, tennis club fees, and race registration fees.

This is my digital hub for talking tech and finance, capturing the world through a lens, and hacking stuff together with the latest hype vibe code tool. Let's connect.

Indy Finance

My newsletter around building and scaling finance functions from $0 to $100M+ ARR. A finance leader's playbook of sorts - updated as I learn by doing.

Slice of Indy

Documenting my pursuit of becoming a UTR 9+ tennis player. What's working, resources I value, and how running goes hand-in-hand with tennis.

A perpetual work in progress: things I'm building with vibe coding, ideas I want to hack together, and cool things I've found that others have built.

Over a decade in:

With over a decade in the NYC startup scene, I've operated in environments as small as 3 people working in an IT closet, to a 1,000 people spread over 3 countries. I've set up finance and accounting from scratch, been a de facto legal operator (not a day of law school), hired across sales, recruiting, data science, and finance as a recruiter (with no Gem, Greenhouse, etc), and have even been an account executive closing clients.

All while running the NYC Marathon every year since 2018.

How I Help

Strategic Mentorship and Advising

Through First Round Fast Track, and individually through inbound messages, I advise early-stage founders and first-time finance leaders on scaling operations. I am especially helpful with financial modeling, choosing finance tooling, thinking about scaling team/department structures, and recruiting.

Currently accepting limited-scope engagements, with commercial rates for startups and limited complimentary slots for individual mentorship.

Board and Community Advising

I have the privilege of serving on the West Side Tennis Club's Finance Committee, and have also previously served on the Tennis Committee. As the original home of the US Open, West Side has a unique place in tennis history. As a committee member, I advise committee chairs on things like budgets, adult tennis programming, and general member sentiment.

I am available for select Board/Advisory Board appointments.

Panels and Peer Engagement

As a founding member of FSuite's Deputy CFO program, and as a member of its steering committee, I am an active participant and leader in NYC finance communities.

In 2025, I spoke about M&A Readiness and Market Trends at one of FSuite's events. I'll be hosting a few more events with them this year.

I am available for speaking engagements - particularly panel discussions.
